Welcome to Utrecht’s fun coworking space for freelancers and entrepreneurs!

Why The Fake Startup? Because we’re not actually a startup. We just brought the best parts of working at one into our coworking space: good people, having fun together, and a quality workspace where you can get things done.

We spend such a big chunk of our lives at work, so we’d better make sure it’s somewhere we love to be. We believe the best way to achieve that is by treating our coworkers as friends. At lunch, we can talk freely about what we actually did last weekend, make jokes, play Mario Kart, and have a beer together after work. The big lunch table and comfy couch make it feel a little like home.

Everyone has their own fixed spot. Bring your favourite setup and use your desk whenever you want. You are surrounded by the same neighbours every day, and within no time you know everyone personally.

We think it’s important that new renters are a good match with the people already here, so we can maintain the vibe. That’s why we always do a small selection process.

Practicalities

-The office has 11 sit/stand desks, a kitchen, a lunch table and a game room

-Coffee & tea for free, and we have a beer fridge that’s always full

-The price per desk is 271 euros/month excluding VAT (21%)

-We have a 3-month notice period, since our notice period with the building is 6 months

Our renters

Our renters are a mix of freelancers, entrepreneurs and remote workers, in very different fields. About half of us are Dutch and half are international, so we usually speak English together. What we have in common is that we wanted a place to get things done, have fun and feel at home.
